Millet, Apple Pie

Here is a fun recipe to prepare over the weekend with your children. The crunchy texture of baked millet will surprise you on how well it balances the apple purée. Not to mention give a beautiful color to your pie! 

 

Millet dough: 

Mix the Millet flour and the wheat flour. Add water and a hint of salt. Mix until dough consistency. 

 

Apple purée:

Peel and dice the apples. In a hot pan brown some butter and cook the diced apples with sugar. Cover and cook until soft. Mix in blender transfer to piping bag and reserve in Fridge.

 

Decoration Apple:

Peel and slice the apples thinly. Spread clarified butter. Sprinkle icing sugar and caramelize in oven.

 

Serving detail suggestion:

 

For the big pies place the apple slices in flower form. Counter clockwise is advised. For the smaller pies place the apples in one direction.
